Congratulations on your pregnancy! I believe pregnancy is a true blessing, and the excitement of meeting the life within you is unlike any other. I am excited that you are interested in having a doula at your upcoming birth! I had a doula at all four of my births (even though I was a doula) and can say without a doubt the service is incredibly beneficial and helpful. My husband and I can't imagine our births without that extra support and wisdom that allowed us to fully experience and enjoy our births.My husband and I have 4 beautiful children. We had our first three at a hospital, and our fourth at home. All of my births opened my eyes to all the options, excitement, confusion, fear, love, and pure joy women encounter when bringing their child into the world. My Doula Philosophy:As a doula, and mother of four, I know how important birth is to a family. I have been a certified birth doula since 2001 and strive in every way possible, through my passion, personal experience and certification, to help create the birth experience you desire.I believe women instinctively know how to birth their babies, and as a doula, I am there to guide and empower them. I help women most by bringing a calm, confident, knowledgeable and uplifting presence to the birth. I have no judgment or expectations of mothers or fathers during labor, and respect all choices that are made.I have personally experienced natural childbirth, home birth, and birth with an epidural. As a doula, I have experience with VBACs, high blood pressure, and planned and unplanned cesarean births. I am experienced in The Bradley Method, Hypnobirthing, Lamaze, HypBirth, and Birthing From Within. I am a certified lactation consultant and can assist with breastfeeding as needed. I love working with dads, and feel more fulfillment as a doula in helping a couple connect and grow closer as they expand their family. I know when a father is empowered and confident in his ability to meet the needs of his partner, they start off parenthood with a stronger relationship and feel more confident in parenting. I feel that knowing your doula as well as possible is very important, and make great efforts to make sure you feel comfortable with me. Overall I try to provide real mom advice and friendship during pregnancy, birth and post-partum phases, so that you feel supported and encouraged.

Birth Doula:It is such an honor to be invited to one of life's most intimate moments. I know the importance of a doula's role during this time, and I honor that trust to its fullest. Birth is an experience that is life changing. I have truly loved every one of my clients and do everything in my power to help make their birth experience as fulfilling as possible. My service includes:* Complimentary interview* 1 - 2 Prenatal Visits* 24/7 Phone availability* Birth Plan Assistance* Support from the start of active labor until baby has successfully breastfed* Birth Photography (25 prints included, all images are yours to keep)* Birth Record My fee is $1,000 for all of the above services. However, I believe that every woman that desires a doula should have one, and therefore I am willing to offer a sliding scale, barter (trade services), and PayPal. References are gladly given upon request.Birth Photography:Some people do not desire to have a doula for their labor and birth, but would like to have it captured on film. It is very important that all people involved in the birth are participating and experiencing the birth, rather than observing it through a lens! I offer my experience in photography and my knowledge of birth (home birth and hospital birth) to capture the most amazing moment of your life. I have found that pictures of birth have been incredibly important to myself and my doula clients in processing birth and remembering that beautiful moment forever.
